This soothing well-supported style, offers the opportunity to linger and savour the poses for several minutes with the aid of props.  The more fully your body is supported, the deeper your sense of surrender and relaxation will be.  The goal is to settle into a place of stillness and deep contentment where you can find the peace that resides within.

Countless individuals in our fast-paced world find themselves in a chronically stressed state.  Our minds and bodies become negatively affected in a myriad of different ways leading to suffering on many levels.  The antidote to this is (of course!) yoga. During times of extreme stress, injury or illness restorative yoga will provide an especially safe environment for relaxation and renewal. Blankets, bolsters, straps, and other props safely support the body in various postures allowing your mind, body and spirit to move toward balance. This practice soothes your nervous system, helps you quiet your mind and invites you to release deeply held tension.  Restorative poses will help you learn where your body habitually holds tension.  Our singular attention on the breath is used as a tool to release pent up tension by breathing into tight areas and releasing them on the exhale.

Restorative Yoga’s therapeutic style makes it easier for the body to get into poses and fully surrender. Practicing asanas using props provides a completely supportive setting for total relaxation and healing. The more your body is supported the deeper your sense of restfulness. Restorative yoga aims to still and release tension in the body in order to still and release tension in the mind and unearth a state of blissful tranquility.  I look forward to seeing you, Carolyn

Bring a mat if you have one (I have a few extras for borrowing if you don't)

All other props will be provided
